I launched Classical Proportions with the aim of teaching people how to apply classical principles of design to their homes. 

For years it has bothered me that a lot of what is termed 'traditional design' is in fact just a pastiche of the wonderful houses built by the Georgians and Victorians. Design today has become the 'Disney version' and even the untrained eye can spot the difference between the original and the imitation.

To change this I set up Classical Proportions to impart, to a new generation, the methods that the great architects from the 16th right up until the early 20th century used. Our sources are the 'Treatise' or text books written by the architects themselves. In most cases these are the same books that would have been used by architecture schools until the 'modern' movement sadly removed them from the curriculum!
